More than a mere project, CommuniTea is a movement born from the simple act of sharing. It began in 2013, during Nosri's final semester of graduate school at Mizzou, with the creation of a grand tea set for 200 people, commissioned by the city of Columbia, Missouri. This ambitious undertaking, aptly named CommuniTea, embodies the essence of bringing people together through the shared experience of tea and the collaborative process of its creation.
Since then, Nosri has been invited by schools, institutions, individuals, and fellow artists to host CommuniTea ceremonies, utilizing both pre-existing sets and crafting new ones for each unique event. These gatherings foster community, hope, and connection through the simple act of sharing a cup of tea and a story. CommuniTea is about building bridges, fostering resilience, and reminding us that even in challenging times, we can find strength and hope in each other. It stands as a testament to the power of art and community to heal and rebuild, a legacy that began in the heart of Nosri's graduate studies and continues to grow with each shared cup of tea.
